Patience is a virtue in poker
Patience is most certainly a virtue in poker. Patience is probably the one single factor that splits the great poker players from the rest. Patience is everything in a game of poker. Remember – poker has been described as hours of boredom and moments of pure terror. Poker is certainly not a fast-paced, glamorous, exhilirating game. Well, at least not most of the time. In fact, often poker can be quite boring. Practice patiently – read books, watch televised games, learn, practice, be patient. These are all ingredients that you need to become a great poker player. When you are in the hand (and you should only really be in this situation when you actually have good cards, for at least most of the time) and you have a genuine chance to win the pot, your adrenalin will be pumping whilst you out-think, outplay and outwit your opponents with your best poker face and attitude.
