Basic strategy – dangerous flops
KICKER PROBLEMS – even if you hit a top pair, for example, a weak kicker makes you vulnerable
SUITED BOARD – even a set (3 cards/trips) could lose to a flop with 3 of the same suit because there are flush dangers. This also applies to sequenced cards (like 3, 4, 5)
OVERCARDS – when your pocket cards are higher than the highest cards on the flop. Be very cautious. Consider how many opponents are in the hand. Know your opponents – what do they play? Think about the possibility of the other players hitting the flop (even a low pair will do).
