PostHeaderIcon Hands not to play – devising your own strategy

There are certain hands which you should not play.  For example, when your hole cards are 2 low cards with different suits – these are obviously weak hands.  You should really only play these hands when you are in the Blinds and no-one else raised.  Of course, if the flop hits them perfectly it becomes a great hand.  Then there is also the mid-range hands that will lure players into indiscretions that will let them end up chasing the Turn or the River and most likely end up in losing all their money.  For example, an Ace with a low kicker such as A3 or A6 must rather be folded.  It is too easy to be outkickered and you may find yourself in a difficult situation where you are wondering if you shouldn’t have folded.  Any picture card with a low kicker for example K3 or Q6 should rather be folded.  Again, you may hit top pair and then not know whether an opponent has you out-kickered.  The problem with these hands is that you rarely win big pots but it can lead to you losing quite a lot of your chips when you are beaten.

Especially as a beginner, you want to avoid these type of situations that can drain your confidence.
